We are part of the Plymouth CAST family of schools. We are a Catholic school welcoming children of all faiths to learn and grow with us. The education and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of everything we do. Our Gospel Values of humility, compassion, kindness, justice, forgiveness, integrity, peace and courage are integral to our whole school community. We inspire all our children to do their best, be their best and have respect for themselves, others and the world we live in. Choosing a school for your child is really important for any parent or carer. If you would like to find out more about our school you are welcome to visit us to meet our wonderful staff and pupils. About St. Joseph's

St Joseph's School was founded in 1904 by the Sisters of the Convent of the Holy Family. The school was granted voluntary-aided status in 1970 under the auspices of the Diocese of Plymouth.

In March 1987 storms destroyed most of the old building and the school survived in temporary buildings until the new school opened in September 1992.
The school is now a beautiful, fully equipped seven-classroom primary school which occupies an exceptional site overlooking the Exe estuary.
Foundation Governors are appointed by the Bishop and elected parent and staff governors oversee the school.
We are part of CAST academy and therefore funded by them. Please see separate page for more information.
At the moment 30% of our children are baptised Catholics and the remainder are from other faith or non denominational backgrounds. We welcome children from all backgrounds and denominations.

We follow the Devon term dates - please see separate page for term dates.
Our school day starts at 8.55am. Doors open at 8.50am to allow for a gradual flow in through the doors.
The school day ends at 3.30pm. Nursery finishes at 3.15pm.
