We are part of the Plymouth CAST family of schools. We are a Catholic school welcoming children of all faiths to learn and grow with us. The education and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of everything we do. Our Gospel Values of humility, compassion, kindness, justice, forgiveness, integrity, peace and courage are integral to our whole school community. We inspire all our children to do their best, be their best and have respect for themselves, others and the world we live in. Choosing a school for your child is really important for any parent or carer. If you would like to find out more about our school you are welcome to visit us to meet our wonderful staff and pupils. Please email admin@stjo.uk or phone 01395 264875 to book an appointment. We look forward to seeing you.

Esteem Team

We welcomed 70 new faces through our doors for an informative session run by Esteem on supporting sensory needs. We loved linking with our community and listening to strategies to support neuro diverse learners.

Emily (SENDCo) is excellent at identifying SEMH needs across the school and as we are an Early Help Service we are able to work together to support children at those early stages; SEN Support. As a whole and through Relational Practice Policy the school have excellent Universal Provision for SEMH. Through working with Emily and the wider team it is clear that they are well supported. The school is reflective when identifying needs and they are able to allocate resources accordingly. Emily is always able to build a team of adults around the child so that they are well supported by various outside agencies; for example by arranging joint visits with the SEMH Team and C&I Team.

Emily is keen to work closely with wider community services and tries her best to involve and refer to outside agencies for further support and guidance which is an excellent quality and shows professionalism as well as understanding of the SEN system.

She is a credit to the school and our community.
